Normunds Narvaišs elected chairman of “Rīgas satiksme” Council
On July 19, the new council of “Rīgas satiksme”, including Ainārs Ozols, Andrejs Pančenko and Normunds Narvaišs, gathered for the first meeting and elected Normunds Narvaišs chairman of the Council and Ainārs Ozols deputy chairman of the Council. The Council also discussed the topical issues of the company and priority tasks to be fulfilled.
As none of the Council members has worked in “Rīgas satiksme” before, their priority task is to become familiar with the general situation in the company so that they could establish a sustainable management model and select a professional Board.
We remind that on July 9 Vadims Baraņņiks, Riga Vice-Mayor and holder of capital shares in “Rīgas satiksme”, appointed Ainārs Ozols, Andrejs Pančenko and Normunds Narvaišs members of the Council. One place in the council is also reserved for “Rīgas satiksme” Board member Juris Švanders, who will take it after leaving the position of the Board member.
The Council will have to approve the medium-term operation strategy of “Rīgas satiksme” and its annual budget, to select the permanent Board – to supervise competition procedure, to set requirements to candidates, as well as to follow that “Rīgas satiksme” operates in conformity with the requirements set by regulations and laws, the company’s statutes and decisions of the company’s shareholders meeting. The Council will also represent the company in courts in all the claims lodged by “Rīgas satiksme” against the Board members and all the claims lodged by the Board members against the company; consider the annual report of the company, the Board’s statement and the proposals of the Board on the use of profit; approve deals between the company and a Board member or an auditor, as well as fulfil other duties.
